This shiraz/viognier blend from Eden Valley is quite a full bodied red, with a long savoury persistence consisting of a fine thread of velvety tannins, and a long, delicious, earthy finish. Dark red plum, spice and some oak on the nose, give way to a palate of red currants, sleek in feel, with slightly mulled dark cherries and steeped blackberries, underpinned by hints of anise and cloves. As might be expected from a wine containing viognier, this wine has decided floral aromas as well. Pair with roast turkey and tarragon infused potatoes, or grilled lamb cutlets with roasted vegetables.
